Above the rim
Assignment: Standard portrait of the boy's basketball player of the year after practice.
On the 20-minute drive to Lyons I thought up a simple shot that I could
get done in the event I only had a few minutes.
Two lights, moody Rembrandt lighting, simple, standard right?
Now what?
"What do you think about sitting on the rim?"
After a chair, a lift and some contortions....
Given the limited lighting equipment and lack of a ladder, I hope it's not your standard portrait. Does it work? Maybe not as well as it could have, but it was still fun and something I haven't seen in my paper yet. Besides, Trey Mullen and the handful of other students will probably remember this photo for a while.
